The Doll Season 1 Blu-ray Box Set (2026 TV Series)

Based on Bolesław Prus’s iconic 1890 novel Lalka, and directed with breathtaking cinematic visual flair by Paweł Maślona, the narrative is set against the turbulent backdrop of late 1870s Warsaw under imperial Russian rule. The story follows the tempestuous, highly transactional relationship between Stanisław Wokulski (Tomasz Schuchardt), an ambitious, war-profiteering merchant, and Izabela Łęcka (Sandra Drzymalska), a fiercely independent aristocratic socialite whose family faces absolute financial ruin. Blinded by obsessive devotion and desperate to secure elite high-society nobility, Wokulski pours his burgeoning fortune into rescuing her debt-ridden father. Meanwhile, the liberated Izabela resists the stifling confines of Victorian aristocratic expectations, struggling to forge her own autonomy and travel dreams in a rapidly modernizing society torn by sharp class divides. Packed with electrifying performances, sharp social critiques, grand ballroom set pieces, and chaotic drawing-room betrayals, this series is a masterclass in psychological tension.
